Designing Photosynthesis in Rice

With increasing global food demand and environmental challenges, improving photosynthesis offers a promising strategy to enhance crop productivity. My talk will focuses on optimizing key photosynthetic processes in major crops like rice and maize. This includes enhancing photoprotection to adapt to fluctuating light conditions, improving Calvin cycle efficiency, and coordinating carbon and nitrogen utilization for better resource allocation. These efforts provide valuable genetic targets for future crop improvement, aiming to increase yields and resilience under changing climates.
