Abstract:

Nitrate is a key nutrient as well as a signaling molecule that impacts both metabolism and development of plants. Major advances in the understanding of how the nitrate signal is perceived and transmitted have been made. I will discuss the molecular mechanisms involving NIN-LIKE-PROTEIN (NLP) transcription factors in Arabidopsis and their role for the plant responses to nitrogen availability.
