Dr. Arren Bar-Even and his group study the biochemical logic and design principles of metabolic pathways and their applications in metabolic engineering of microbes. The group focuses on engineering synthetic alternatives to central metabolic pathways, aiming to uncover optimality in metabolic designs and to offer novel solutions for humanity’s needs in chemical and energy production. The position will be in the Max-Planck-Research group of Dr. Arren Bar-Even, Systems and Synthetic Metabolism, at the Max-Planck-Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Potsdam- Golm.
The research group of Dr. Arren Bar-Even is looking for
an excellent PostDoc
with previous experience (at least 2 years) in metabolic engineering of Pseudomonas putida (including gene deletion and overexpression), for a Horizon 2020 project, starting at January 2019, which involve deep rewiring of central metabolism of P. putida towards novel bioproduction pathways.
