The Target of Rapamycin (TOR) kinase is an evolutionarily conserved and central regulatory element that integrates nutrient, energy and hormone signals to regulate growth, mRNA translation and energy/nutrient homeostasis in eukaryotes. We will show that a decrease in TOR activity has a strong effect on the global transcriptome and proteome as well as on primary metabolism. TOR activity is also closely linked to hormones and we have observed strong connections between TOR and hormone signalling. We will also present the identification of novel components of the plant TOR pathway.
