Plant scientist from the Max Planck Institute Golm becomes EMBO member

Prof. Dr. Ralph Bock was elected to the EMBO Membership

Prof. Dr. Ralph Bock, director at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology and leader of the department Organelle Biology, Biotechnology and Molecular Ecophysiology has been elected as a member of the “European Molecular Biology Organisation“ (EMBO). 

In total, EMBO announced 58 outstanding researchers in the life sciences to its membership this year. Next to 50 scientists from Europe, researchers from non-European countries, as China, Japan, New Zealand and the United States join EMBO.

The EMBO Membership currently comprises more than 1700 leading life scientists and promotes outstanding performances in life sciences. The main goals of the organisation are support of talented researchers, promotion of the exchange of scientific information and support of the establishment of a research environment, which allows performance of high quality research.

The international federation EMBO was founded in 1964. New members are nominated and elected by current members of EMBO.
